4th of July Outdoor Patio Décor

Outdoor patio patriotic décor

Are you still unsure where to start when decorating your outdoor patio for this upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend? All the planning that goes into one weekend always baffles me but in the end it’s always worth it. You have to plan ahead, counting guest, what to make, fireworks and if you have guest staying over, that includes more planning and prepping. Trust me, my family always come to stay, so I have to plan ahead for everything. The one thing that always seems to be last on my list is, how to decorate my patio and home. You would think that after so many years this will be the first on my list, maybe one day but not this year. So I decided to start with a mood board for inspiration.

This outdoor patio patriotic Interior design board gives a small touch of 4th of July décor without losing the simplicity of the design. Here are three simple tips when decorating for this 4th of July holiday.

1) Design from a Visual perspective

You want to decorate from the bottom of the space and move up. This way the room feels fully decorated without having to purchase so many holiday décor pieces. You can start with a small inexpensive outdoor mat and layer it with a larger outdoor area rug for dimension. The patriotic banners and wreaths add the perfect touch to complete the design from a visual perspective.

2) Implement some texture to your design

Use pillows, textured vases and trays to implement different textures, contrast and materials. Touch allows others to connect with the space. Adding some pillows with a patriotic design and napkins is enough to make a space feel cohesive. The Tray and vases can remain neutral to compliment the outdoor furniture and original design.

3) Add small amounts of color to the space

Red, white and blue are the patriotic colors for the 4th of July holiday. Using small amounts of these colors in different areas of the space is a perfect way to set the tone for the design without being overpowering. The planters are a perfect example of this, they are not patriotic designs but the patriotic colors are implemented in the flowers and planters.

When designing for the any holiday, try to use what you already have and add some colors in simple ways like, plants, napkins, beads etc. to complete your design.
