Christmas Mantel Decor

We can incorporate Christmas decor anywhere when it comes to the holidays and it does not have to be difficult. As long as you have an empty space that can be filled, decor can go on it!

Here are some simple tips on decorating your Mantel or Console Table.

1) Choose a color scheme

Once you have chosen two or three colors that you would like to use in your decor, the rest becomes a piece of cake. My Christmas tree this year is green, silver and beige, I will utilize this same pallet throughout the house. You can even use the same color is different shades, do whatever you feel will work best in your home.

2) Utilize different Textures

Have fun and mix it up, you can utilize different textures to give the design more depth and visual weight. Design is all about illusion, so using wood and metal pieces together allows the design to have contrast. It can also help warm up the space.

3) Layer up in your design

This can be done by utilizing both wood and green garland or layering trees in different sizes. This is one of the most important aspects in design because it prevents the design from looking flat. Having homes in different heights on your mantel gives it a realistic feel. Depending on the size of your mantel or console table you may want to have at least two large pieces and layer them accordingly. Try to fill in those empty spaces with height and dimension.
