How to Add Wall Art Decor that Promotes Positive Energy?
There are so many ways to implement art in your home decor but what purpose is the art serving. On this healthy home journey, it's important to give everything a purpose, even when selecting home decor. There are so many research-based benefits that art has on our mental health. Art can elevate your mood and be encouraging but what if you are unsure about the message behind the art work. It can leave you confused or uneasy. This is not to say that we can't utilize abstract art, if you have a connection with it, then it's serving its purpose. I also love that art can complete a design aesthetically, but the message behind the art is what resonates with me. Below are some ways to select art, that not only adds to your wall decor but can also motivate or inspire you.
Positive Affirmation Wall Art
On my wellness journey, I have learned the importance of positive affirmations and the connections we make when we can relate to a specific message. It is important to surround yourself with items that promote wellness and growth, so we continuously evolve. Having art with a message can alter your thoughts and change your mood for the day. Art with positive affirmations are motivational reminders of who you are and what you are capable of. This design is not only motivational but it begins to plant a seed in children and how they view their worth and abilities.
Nature Wall Art
Visualization is key and having art that displays images of nature gives us something to look forward to. You can envision yourself in that space and may even be able to heighten your other senses through memory. If you are reminded of a specific place, it can take you back to that moment in time. Research has found that art that resembles water has been found to reduce stress and boost your mood. Nature wall art and landscape wall art is not only beautiful to look at but it connects us with the outdoors. This connection is by far the greatest gift we can give ourselves.
Motivational Wall Art
Action-driven art is another one of my favorites because it serves a rich purpose. When we are surrounded by the art of people moving or words that encourage action, it motivates us to move forward. It can encourage us to be active, calm, or work harder, depending on the message the artist is portraying. This art can be seen in different ways, some through written messages and others through detailed points of view. An action-driven art piece that I see often is the "Inhale and Exhale" wall art pieces, and although they are not detailed sentences, they encourage you to take a deep breath. Having this in your home can have a positive effect on your mood and behaviors.
One way to be mindful when selecting art is by asking yourself, how does it make me feel, and does it serve a purpose? Will this art promote positive energy in my home and does the message motivate me in any way? Having a home that looks beautiful and feels beautiful is my purpose behind every design because it promotes overall wellness. Love your home and I hope this has been helpful to anyone who is on their own wellness journey.
