2022 Fall Home Decor Trends and Home Finds

As the summer is soon approaching the end of the season, we are soon headed towards cooler mornings, falling leaves and back to school supplies everywhere we go. Personally, I love the fall and everything it has to offer, including the warmer tones and soft textures that are offered in this years home decor finds.

What is trending this fall season?

The home decor items that are offered this fall season starts anywhere from velvet textures, warmer earth tones, floral stems and furniture with rounded edges. It’s everything that our home needs for this upcoming fall season and can be found in your local department stores. Let’s talk about the look and feel these home decor items will offer your home.

Velvet textures are here stay! It’s seen on pillows, accent chairs, throw blankets and even accent decor items like pumpkins. I am sure you will see velvet in every department store as the incoming fall season approaches us. Velvet is no longer lost in the 70’s and I am ok with that. It provides a luxury feel and its texture is both soothing and comforting.

Let’s talk about the selection of warmer earth tones that the decor pieces, pillows and furniture options come in compared to the summer. This year pastel’s were in and they offered a vibrant touch to any home, perfect for the spring and summer. The warmer earth tones will be the best transitional look to introduce fall, the darker greens, reds and tans gives any room that cozy feel we long for in the fall.

The greenery for this season is not so green and I am here for it! It gives your home a more realistic feel for the season. The branches and deep rich darker flower stems, feels like you are bringing the outdoors in. If you are looking forward to the green stems, no worries, they are still on trend but in a more simplistic and richer tone.

Last but certainly not least, the furniture and decor pieces both have these round corners and arches that takes the overall design to another level. If you are looking for a statement piece, these accent chairs and arched mirrors will transform your space. I am in love with this look, it gives a soft touch to any room and its visually appealing. You can also find these rounded, arched design styles with decor pieces like vases, book ends and other decorative objects. It’s my favorite design style to add to all of my mood boards.

How to create a fall transitional look in your home?

The summer is not over but some of us are ready to transition to fall with out placing pumpkins on the dining table. If you are looking for a transitional feel, without feeling like fall exploded in your home here are some tips you can use. If you are ready for pumpkins, thank please decorate your heart away!

For a great fall transitional look, you want to begin by removing vibrant summer decor pieces and keep the color palette in your home neutral. You can begin to add neutral fall color like warmer creams, greens and blues with a gray undertone. Look for accent decor pieces that feel a little less bright and a bit warmer in tone. Keep the design simple by changing one or two decor pieces like a blanket and an area rug or warmer pillow covers and neutral decor pieces.

Here is great example of this transitional look, this bedroom feels neutral nut the blanket and area rug gives it a warm touch, keeping it simple.
